One bird found on July 1st 2024 by John Grant in shallow wetland along the Burke Developmental Road, approximately 38 km north-east of Normanton in Queensland’s Gulf Country. Apart from the tracking of Gloria and Marcelina, this is only the third Australian Painted-snipe site, and only the third individual, reported nationally this year.
